Support the ministry of Midwest Christian Outreach
Our support philosophy
Midwest Christian Outreach, Inc. (MCOI) is a faith ministry. By this we mean that we rely on God working through the prayers and generosity of His people to provide us with the spiritual and financial support we need to fulfill our mission.
Thus the “suggested donation” amounts listed in our Resource Catalog are just that: suggested donations.
We don’t want the cost of a booklet or tape or video to prevent it from reaching someone who truly needs it. If you’re unable to send the suggested total, just include a brief note with your order telling us that. No apology or explanation is necessary.
The same principle applies to all other services MCOI provides. If your church or organization asks us to present a conference or seminar, we’ll advise you concerning the typical costs for these events, and — although we’re not in a position to make guarantees — we’ll endeavor to fulfill your request even if those costs are beyond your means.
We have a very practical reason for following this policy. We spend a lot of time evangelizing and ministering to the victims of cults and spiritually abusive groups. Very often these people have been financially exploited by their former groups, sometimes quite cruelly, and are understandably wary of anyone trying to sell “spiritual truth.” If we charged for our resources and services it would create in these people’s minds an unnecessary obstacle to the biblical truths we present to them.
This is also why we make every effort to keep our fund raising appeals to a minimum. It’s not that we don’t have financial needs, or think it’s more “spiritual” to not talk about them. But current and former cultists (as well as others) observe what we do, and many of them would be stumbled on the path to faith in Christ if they perceived we focused more on money than on ministry.
And yet we’ve also heard from people who’ve requested that we make information on how to give to our ministry easier to find on our web site. Such folks express appreciation for our low-key approach to fund raising, but they don’t want to waste a lot of time trying to figure out how to make a donation. So we also try to accommodate these people by making links to this and other relevant pages widely available. We try to walk a fine line between avoiding unnecessarily offending people, and removing difficulties for people who believe that the Lord is calling them to help support our work.
Your gifts to MCOI help us minister directly to the needs of others who have been hurt by false teachings. They also allow us to provide resources and services to those who would otherwise be unable to afford them.
Furthermore, your gifts can also help extend MCOI’s outreach into this neglected mission field. New spiritual needs present themselves to us almost everyday, and in some cases the only thing that prevents us from meeting them is additional funding.
The Lord has enabled us to accomplish much with the help of faithful volunteers and donated services. Our core of volunteers will always be an important key to the vitality of our ministry, but there are some needs that cannot be effectively met simply by recruiting more volunteers. We thank you for your interest and help.

AdTech Solutions
We also work with AdTech Solutions, an organization that specializes in converting a wide range of donated inventories into cash for non-profits like MCOI.
Problematic Inventories
Businesses and/or trucking companies often have problematic inventories they are unsure the best or most economical way to handle. Often this can be donated to MCOI, save the business or trucking company the expense of disposal, and in some cases even have a tax advantage as a result. AdTech converts the problematic inventories and the proceeds come to MCOI.
Specialty Vehicle Donations
These specialty vehicles include trailers from over the road trucking companies. They retire their trailers after 1 million miles. This can be very convenient for them by scheduling the last run for that trailer near the location where they will be picking up their new trailer they can drop off the old trailer after it is unloaded at 1 of the 140 drop off sites. For a more comprehensive idea please refer to the suggested list of specialty vehicles which AdTech handles.
Businesses and Farms
Many business owners and farmers will be retiring in the next 1-10 years. Some of them do not have anyone to step in and take over the business or farming operation and the thought of selling seems nearly overwhelming. In addition there will be a capital gains tax of about 20% eating into the revenues. AdTech Solutions can assist in assessing the value (which is not communicated to us), helping to find a purchaser, and doing it in such a way to eliminate or substantially reduce the capital gains tax, part or all of which can be donated to your favorite non-profit as well as potentially increasing your retirement funds. Contact Tony at AdTech Solutions for more information.
Bank Administered Asset Liquidations
The unfortunate result of our current economy is that corporations are going out of business often leaving banks holding foreclosed inventories and property which costs them to hold as well as to dispose of. There are a number of advantages to having AdTech handle the Bank Administered Asset Liquidations.
This area of non-cash donations is virtually untapped and in many ways we are only really limited by our imagination and contacts. These are also often win-win situations for the donor and MCOI as it is solving a problem they have and supporting the mission God has given MCOI.
Thank you! Your gifts encourage us tremendously as we seek to serve the Lord in this mission field. We deeply appreciate your generosity. Thank you and God bless you!

Dear Don & Joy,
I have been in the Christian Apologetics & ‘counter-cult’ ministry in the UK for nearly 40 years working as an individual and with Reachout Trust (http://www.reachouttrust.org/). Just come across your ministry website while looking for information on ‘contemplative’ Christianity – in particular the articles by Marcia Montenegro. But had a look at some of the other material you have published via MCOJ. From what I have seen so far a superb cornucopia of the sort of stuff we need here. However, the article that I most identified with was ‘Lessons from the Mission Field’ in the Spring 2010 issue. As I read it I had that “I’ve been there and got the T-shirt” feeling. But it was when I read the section under the heading ‘Informing and Warning the Church’ that I completely empathised with what you wrote; that described EXACTLY the situation I am in here, in fact I could have written the same words (I did say something very similar at a Reachout Trust conference earlier this year). It confirmed I wasn’t alone in seeing this exact picture I hope you’re ok with me sharing that portion (with due acknowledgement) with a couple of close colleagues in this ministry field. Sometimes working in this corner of the vineyard can seem very discouraging – there is a tsunami of false teaching hitting evangelical churches here in the UK let alone all the other error that is going around; guess you are experiencing the same syndrome.
Every blessing,
Roger Monk
