The newest Abercrombie and Fitch catalog titled, “XXX Adventure: Get Wet Set & Go on Spring Break” is now available. It is little more than a pornographic magazine with some clothing promotions. In a large portion of the photos the models are wearing no clothes with full rear nudity and frontal nudity from the waist up. The articles are composed of an interview with a porn star (1700 films) that has the ability to perform oral sex on himself (although he doesn’t). Another article focusing on the delights of young people seducing the elderly for sexual gratification (with such topics as “Kissing and Dentures,” “Saggy Breasts are Beautiful,” “Leather and oxygen as foreplay”). In their XXXPert Advice section a young man is advised to ask his favorite nun to a Caribbean Island and maybe he can help her “kick the habit.”

Upon contacting the company to point out the inappropriate nature of this stealth porn their response has been, “We are not just a clothing store, we area ‘lifestyle.’ Our philosophy is that we are a promoter of happy, free, smiling folks. We want the kids to be happy because happy breeds healthy.”

Abercrombie and Fitch certainly have the right to publish this material. They also have the right to promote this lifestyle. However, we also have the right to point out the immoral behavior they are advocating to kids. Each person will have to decide for themselves how to respond if at all but I would suggest that purchasing Abercrombie and Fitch products is no different than supporting Playboy, Hustler, etc.
