Gwen Shamblin’s
Remnant Fellowship claims they meet with their critics
Midwest Christian Outreach, Inc. responds
with request for meeting

During a local television interview
on Dec. 6, 2002, Remnant Fellowship representative Tedd Anger said, “We
have been in the word for hours with many of our critics unlike what has
been said.”
This statement ran contrary to the
experiences of Midwest Christian Outreach, Inc. (MCOI) and other ministries,
whose repeated overtures for dialogue with Remnant Fellowship’s leader,
Gwen Shamblin, have been consistently ignored. Therefore MCOI interpreted
Anger’s statement as possibly representing a welcome shift in Remnant Fellowship
policy, and in a letter dated
Feb. 28, 2003 MCOI’s president, Don Veinot, invited “the leadership
of Remnant Fellowship to meet in a public forum.”
This meeting would be designed as
a debate that would not only give Remnant Fellowship the opportunity to
respond to charges of false doctrine that MCOI and other ministries have
leveled against it, but also allow Remnant Fellowship to provide evidence
that they have been “slandered” by MCOI, as they have charged in the past.
As of the publication time of this
article, neither Tedd Anger nor any other representative of Remnant Fellowship
has responded to Veinot’s invitation, but it is still somewhat early.
At approximately 5:00 PM Central Time Veinot received
a signed U.S. Post Office return
receipt for his letter to Tedd Anger, which was sent via certified
mail. The receipt indicates the letter was received by Christi Polivka
on Monday, March 4. Veinot expects a second such receipt, this time
for the copy sent to Gwen Shamblin, to arrive within the next few days.
