![]() Midwest Christian Outreach, Inc., is a non-denominational, evangelical organization that exists to intelligently present and compassionately defend the Gospel of Jesus Christ, especially to those who consciously reject it due to false beliefs, and to challenge and equip believing Christians to do the same. ![]() The Bible commands Christians to contend earnestly for the truth of the Christian faith (Jude 3). This requires the knowledge of God's word and a willingness to reach out to those who oppose its teachings. We should know what we believe and why we believe it, and care enough about others to share that knowledge with them. Unfortunately, today's church has largely neglected this command. In many cases this neglect has been due to an honest confusion between earnest contention and the sin of contentiousness. Earnest contention often includes, among other things, spirited debate (Acts 18:19) and open confrontation (Galatians 2:11-21), and Christians are often called upon to engage in these. But contentiousness is a perverse and wearisome tendency to quarrels and disputes — an attitude that's so eager to find fault that it frequently exaggerates its significance — which the Bible specifically instructs believers to avoid (2 Timothy 2:24-26). We believe the time is long overdue to restore the proper application of what it means to contend earnestly for the faith within the church of Jesus Christ. We, the staff and volunteers of Midwest Christian Outreach Inc., respectfully request your prayers and support as we pursue this important goal. ![]() Midwest Christian Outreach is committed to helping the church in every part of North America and around the world build a community of Christians that actively shares its faith with atheists, agnostics, and adherents of false doctrines and practices in a manner that acknowledges these people as thinking, feeling, human beings who deserve respect and a reason for the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15). |
